Yep. That's me. Ive been wanting to get into it for a longtime. I finally bought a bow and im looking for advice on arrows. The bow came with 2 goldtip XT Hunter arrows. My father in law is trying to sell me some arrows that are longer and thicker than the arrows I already have. My question is, does that matter? My bow is a PSE Stinger. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

Longer arrows? Are the ones you got not cut to your length already?

Best advice I know is if you don't trust your father in law to know the correct arrows don't buy arrows from him. Get your bow setup to your draw length and draw weight and consult an arrow manufactures chart for recommendations

Your father in law saw that wallet open... tell him to shove those old aluminum Eastons up his arse.

Good info. The poundage you shoot with your bow will affect the recommend arrow from the arrow companies. I shoot Beman Ics camo hunters and they were cut to size.

I haven't bought anything yet. Just talking about it still. Getting the arrows cut for my draw length basically answers my question, though. I appreciate it!

In regards to arrows, go to an archery pro shop in your area and confirm that the arrows you have are of correct weight/length. Shooting over/underspined arrows is dangerous. Have you had your draw length measured?

Black Eagle arrows are what I'm shooting this year. I'd have to know your draw weight, arrow length, and broadhead weight you plan to shoot before I could recommend what arrow spine you need. (I believe that bow's IBO is around 310 which is going to put you at a 350 or 400 spine depending on the above variables)
