OK now that the schedule is out and the team is essentially set going into the season, it's time to make predictions.
October: No reason to not be able to beat the magic on opening night at home. (1 total)
November: Not too tough of a start…playing a lot of teams in the West that should end up in the lottery. We should end up with no fewer than 8 wins in those 14 games, possibly as many as 11 (completely optimistic). I think 9 is a safe bet here. (10 total)
December: This gets a little tougher with pairs of games against OKC, GSW, and SAS and 17 games in 30 days. I really hope to stay above .500 in December, but I'm not so sure about that. I think we could win as few as 7 and as many as 9 or 10. I think 8 may be the safe bet here (18 total)
January: Lots of Eastern Conference teams this month, many will be lottery. 15 games, and I see 11 very winnable games there. I'll say 9 to be safe, since there is a 2 week road trip in there. (27 total)
February: 11 games with the week-long all-star break. All but 3 at home. I see at most 8 wins here, probably more like 7 (34 total)
March: 15 games here. Not overly tough, either. At this point if there aren't many injuries, the team should have been pretty well in sync. I will say 9 wins, but 10 or 11 COULD be realistic. (43 total)
April: If we are around 43 wins here with 9 games left, that should put the Pels in the thick of fighting for a 7-8 seed. The last month features a few teams that will also be fighting (Warriors, Rockets, Suns, Blazers). I really hope for 5 wins here. Finish the season at home against the Spurs who may be resting starters. I say 5 wins for 48 total.
So, borrowing any major injuries (please), I see at most about 53 wins (completely optimistic and far too homer) and at least 42.
What is Pels talk thinking?
Schedule here for those interested

I agree, I think being 10-5 to start off the season is reasonable.

I see rough going... to start. Only game I see us winning easy is Orlando in the opening weeks.
I think and would love to see 45 wins.
Prediction 45-37

We absolutely owned Memphis last year, we are just a bad match up for them. I think it's highly likely the Lakers will be terrible as Kobe goes for the scoring title. Minnesota took a step back, and the main reason they beat us so handily last year was we had no answer for Pekovic, which we do now in Asik, not to mention no Love.
Health is the thing that will determine what side of 50 wins this team ends up on.

to go along with Minny, Golden State and the Thunder are two teams who have absolutely killed the Pels the past few seasons. Need to split the season series versus both of them. Those will be some extremely important games.

If everybody stays relatively healthy, 43-39 and 9th in the West. A solid foundation, something to be proud of.

have they put out NBA vegas odds on total wins yet? i know the Pels are 100-1 to win the ship (not the worst way to waste a few bucks).
