Warner Bros. hires two writers to write two different Aquaman movies

Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and Kurt Johnstad (300: Rise of an Empire) have been hired by the studio to write two different scripts for two different Aquaman films.
The script Warner Bros. likes best will be made into a movie.

What could possibly go wrong.

Why would you do this publicly?
Translation: "We have no idea what to do, so we're going to have two people throw shite against a wall and see if it sticks!"
Admittedly, that's being harsh, but it does sound like a terrible idea to promote. (Because this happens with films all the time, there are multiple scripts floating around.)

The only thing I hate is every one being hired seems to be related to 300 or something. Go out and get some new different writers.
