Some of you parents of college kids crack me up

So you actually know the exact numbers of the classes your child is taking? Do you make him nice spreadsheets of his prereqs as well? My parents have never even seen one official piece of paper from LSU saying what kind of grades I make. How about y'all pack a bowl and chill the frick out. Your child is an adult now. Act like it

The frick are you talking about?

Your son/daughter won't go to class, will drink every night of the week, will frick anything that moves, and do lots of drugs. Get over it

LOL at you for thinking an 18 or 19 year old knows how the world works.
A parent is a parent for life, not 18 years.

I want to say that parents can log in and see grades if the parents know the login number assigned to the student.
ETA: if i'm footing the tuition fees, you can bet your sweet arse I'm going to monitor the phuck out of 'em.

Oh, it's worse than that.
The freshman orientation is now three days and the kids stay i a dorm. The parents have their own dorm and spend the day with the kid while they find where their classes are, the cafeterias, their testing, etc.
I don't get it. My dad never set foot on campus with me. Didn't even help me move in to the dorm. His exact words:
If your mom could go 12 countries away for school by herself, you can go twenty minutes down the road by yourself.

My uncle did it right... he said you have two options:
1. I pay for your college but no drinking or any stupid behavior until you are 21. You have to attend class and get good grades
2. I don't pay for your college and you can do whatever the hell you want to. Skip class, drink, party, do drugs, don't care.
Well my cousin ends up having his uncle pay for the first semester, and he ended up partying, drinking, missing class, getting grades that weren't A/B. So my uncle tells him he is on his own 2nd semester, ended up having to drop out 2nd semester because he couldn't pay and had to find a job to fund his college going forward.

I think it's weird when my friends' parents know all about their classes, prereqs, grades, etc.
My parents don't know much, I take care of it myself. I figured that was normal. All they know are things I tell them in passing.

I'm 30 now, I always showed my parents my grades without them asking as they helped me out some money wise (and the grades were good).
If I was footing the bill, I'd like to see the grades. If the college student has loans, scholarships, etc and is getting no money from mom or pops showing grades are up the the student.

Exactly, if I am paying for your college you better as hell be going to class, getting good grades

Same. My parents didn't come to orientation with me back in the day. I spent a week in br getting hammered every night and still managed to test out of 14 hours. I've been here for 3 years now and I've never once needed mommy or daddy to come hold my hand.
And lol at that dude thinking my parents know how to log into moodle to view my grades.
