Gotta admit I'm really liking this SEC football marathon on ESPN Classic lately.

yea, my wife is already rolling her eyes about the impending football season. she just can't understand why I would watch reruns of LSU. women can be really dumb sometimes.

Could you imagine if the rant and internet were around when he was the coach? You want to talk about a dude winning with another guys (Arnsparger) talent and then tailing off bad.

Some friends took me to that game for my birthday. My last clear memory of that evening is Florida missing the FG to give the Tigers the win. I don't remember much of the night after that point but everyone's told me that I had a great time.

How was Emmitt Smith a walkon?

Did he turn down other D1A offers to play at UF who just came off probation?

These announcers just relayed a pre-TD ranter story back in 1987..

Upon leaving the stadium after the tie with Ohio State (Hodson threw a pick late in the 4th) Archer was leaving the stadium with his wife. Some drunk fan started cussing at Archer and Archer's wife walked over and threatened to punch him in the nose.

I was there and it was a great game. I'm old now but was that when Fla. was #1 and we tore down the goal posts.

Was Galen Hall coached UF and I sat on field south EZ. Watched H Williams score and came right up to us at the fence to high five! They were filming E All American. UF missed FG at the buzzer to preserve the 13-10 W (thankfully or would have been back to back 13 all ties)!

Now the shitacular Tepper defense is losing to Tim Couch and company in Tiger Stadium 1998.

ETA: Of all people, Joel Meyers was the play-by-play guy for ESPN2 for this game.
