However, the opening track Weight of Love is by far the best song I have heard this year. Aurbach's guitar work in it is incredible, and the overall construction of the song is perfect.

I feel the same way. I bought the song because it's the best Black Keys track I've heard in a long, long time. It's such a sick song, don't care for the rest of the album though.

Thanks for this thread. I've been listening to War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream after seeing it on many lists in this thread. I've been loving it.

I will also say that Ray Lamontagne's Supernova has been my favorite album this year so far.

I'll say that I really, really enjoy this album. Will almost certainly be in my top 10 for the year come December. But I guess I feel that some of the praise is a bit hyperbolic. People saying it's the best album they've heard in years and such. Maybe I just don't get what's so special about it. I honestly don't see how it's all that much better (if at all) than Wild Nothing's "Nocturne" from 2012. Again, I think it's an awesome album. I dunno. frick me.

I smell what you're stepping in

I'm guilty of the War on Drugs hyperbole myself. It's good, but like instant classic? Eh, I dunno

That's why I switched to Future Islands being my top album of the year, to be a contrarian hipster a-hole

Classic Dan.

I'll admit I enjoy Doves. I just hate Seasons so much, I won't go out of my way to listen to any of the other tracks. Will just take it as it comes.

Doves, Spirit, and A Song for out Grandfathers are the best songs on the album imho iyam kms

Light House and Back in the Tall Grass are pretty good too

If you don't like the weird growling stuff, never listen to Fall From Grace. It's actually a great song, but its got some serious growl/screams going on in it.

Just listen to the album a-hole. it's good.

One album I totally forgot about was Woods- With Light and Love. That one may crack my top five.

Yeah, it is a fun listen like all NP albums. I haven't listened enough yet to say where I would rank it amongst their catalogue though.
