Sure it has been discussed but - I don't get the whole YETI ice chest

I was just at Ace hardware and saw several sizes of the Yeti.
I ask the guy what is so special about them. He says they keep in the cold longer.
I said Igloos keep in the cold just fine and if you continue to open the lid to retrieve something, it doesn't matter how well it holds it in.
An unopened Igloo will hold ice for well over day, just like the Yeti.
I cannot see dropping $400+ for a Yeti when a $50 Igloo will do nearly as well.
Are these just status symbols of the Rednecks?

I see a lot of them here in Asheville. Lots of stickers on Subarus and trucks too.

It's a good, overbuilt, probably overpriced product that will be awesome for a very small number of people and a waste for a very large number of people.

Status symbol, nothing more. It's sad that the hillbillies are peeling off their salt life stickers for these now as if their damn pickup truck has been sponsored by them.

Yeah, but when they peel it off the back glass, they end up just getting one stretched across the top of the windshield. It works out.

I have never once seen a Yeti sticker. I haven't even ever heard of Yetis except on here. Same with Costa sunglasses, I have never seen a pair.

Didn't buy it though. Used it for the first time yesterday, still has plenty of ice in it and my Hopitoulas is cold, too cold.

A Yeti is a super-expensive sticker that comes with an ice chest.
Like being a vegan, the only point in owning a Yeti is so you can announce to the world what a fool you are.
