As a sponsor it is going to be interesting to see if Alumni funds were being used to fund buyouts. It will be interesting to learn if jobs for sex actually happened.

He has always been a piece of shite IMO. If money was used for buyouts, it came from donors I guarantee you.

For an organization that is funded by alumni...

I wonder if people will feel less inclined to donate to the alumni association now and maybe donate towards a different group such as athletics.

The media firestorm that erupted last week was the endgame. My guess is a retirement announcement will be coming at some point. It is a touchy situation because they are technically separate from LSU yet everything they do is related to LSU.

what could possibly be the justification for paying someone that old, that much money to do that job?

Foundation and TAF do more with the money given to them than the Alumni Association. The AA is great for keeping LSU Alums connected and informed, especially through their local chapters; but in terms of direct benefit of donor support, the Foundation and TAF is where it's at.

He was head of the basketball band I think. And he rose up to head of the alumni association.? and how do you think that happened?
He's always had the reputation of being a d-bag
And a backstabber. Not surprised

He knows where the bodies are buried. Hell he probably buried half of them himself.

Thanks for clearing this up, I was actually curious about what, if anything, donations to the Alumni Association actually benefit.

I'll make a note of this for when I actually make enough money to give back to LSU. For now, I'll just stick with basketball tickets as my yearly "donation".

They do have a number of general scholarships they manage for the university, but generally speaking if you wanted to support a specific entity that you were a part of or enjoy (i.e. the Finance Department or the Basketball Program) your support should be towards the Foundation for academics and TAF for athletics.
