Options for Anniversary Weekend

Wife and I celebrating our 3rd anniversary next month. Want to take a little weekend trip, last little hoorah before our first child due in January. I was thinking L'auberge Du Lac, but don't know much about the place other than they have a lazy river my wife would love, and that it's supposed to be pretty pricey. Anyone experience this place, some other suggestions? We've done the weekend in New Orleans before, basically ate at every Besh Restaurant while we were there.

how far are you willing to travel with a 4 month pregnant wife?

Come on over to Houston, stay at the Houstonian and get a couples massage setup. Take her to Top Golf, and do a little shopping for the baby. Go out to a nice restaurant.

Weekends without players comps you're looking at 279/nt. The place is nice though. Best pool scene in the region, IMO.
Casino is nice but very grabby if you're into that kind of thing. Plenty of good eats that won't hit you too bad. The steakhouse is a very nice experience. New players get a free buffet after a very minimal level of play...or at least they used to do that.

3 hours or so (from Baton Rouge), but don't see how pregnancy affects that other than we'll be making more frequent pit stops

The Grand Hotel, I think it's a Marriott property, in Fairhope Alabama is supposed to be real nice. It's on the water and has all sorts of amenities. I've thought about taking the wife there before but never have.

Don't go to N.O. this time of the year, especially with your wife being pregnant. It's hot as hell.
Casino's and their over priced restaurants bore the hell out of me.
I like the idea of taking her to the Grand Hotel as suggested or maybe a bed and breakfast in Fairhope, Al.

Why not go to the beach then(like someplace Florida panhandle)?Peak season will be over by then so won't be as crowded and rates will be cheaper.

Bed and breakfast place is NOT romantic at all. Think about it.....you are basically staying at someone else's house. Sometimes you don't even get a private bathroom. Walls may be thin so your wife may not be up for sex knowing the old couple that owns the place can hear you and will see you at breakfast the next morning.

I'll check out the Grand, more than just one positive feedback here.

You do have a little point.
Some B&B's are different. I've never had to share a bathroom and I wouldn't think wild sex was up high on the list.
So I guess the Grand Hotel might be the choice. Pretty romantic place. Kick arse pool. Some good restaurnats nearby in Fairhope, etc.
If OP, does want to hit the beach, a good idea for just a weekend stay is the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach.

I would imagine the "busy" season is over, with school starting and all
