Sup. My brother lives in Canada and we would like to visit. We have pretty much zero flying experience. None with kids. Any tips?

Would need to rent a van. Can you rent car seats? Send them on the plane with you? Two little kids for one seat? Do little ones need to be in their car seats on the plane? Kids would be 1/3/5 at time of travel.

Thanks for any help

You can check car seats/strollers with you for free. 1 yr old won't need a ticket as long as they are on your lap and don't need a seat.

Yep you can gate check strollers too. Prob do that and use the infant carrier as a car seat when you get the van. Car companies will rent boosters.

Oh right. I just looked into this for a Disney cruise. They make passport "cards". They are 50$ a piece and only good for Mexico Canada and somewhere else close to us. Save you some $

Have a lot of small bills to buy booze for the people around you.

He's traveling by air. He needs the full passport. Not the passport card.

I didn't know it mattered. This is going to be an expensive trip

Maybe brother should just fly down to them.

You can rent car seats or bring them on the plane. They don't have to be in car seats on the plane. You wouldn't even have to purchase a seat for the 1 year. We didn't when we went to Colorado, but that's only 2 hours.

1 year old can sit in your lap. You can check the car seats. Strollers they can put at the bottom of the plane. They're used to handling this, and it's no big deal. There's no point in putting a kid in a car seat on a plane either.
