Is it dusty in here or what..
quote:

Fifteen-year-old Cassidy Stay was the sole survivor of the tragic murder of her parents and four siblings in her family's suburban Houston home on July 9. At a memorial service on July 12, Stay recited her eulogy, quoting "Harry Potter" writer J.K. Rowling: "In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Dumbledore says, 'Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.'"

quote:

This week, Rowling reportedly sent Stay a care package, which included a personalized letter purportedly written by fictional "Potter" headmaster, Dumbledore.

There's a lot of good philosophical life advice in the Harry Potter books.

Not to be a dick but I saw this thread on Reddit (not the point of my post so chill) and someone posted some pics of this girl and she is smiling ear to ear in every photo. Even during memorial events and some parade they had for her like she is enjoying the fame.

Maybe it's off but I would be so crushed just two weeks after losing 6 family members that I doubt I could keep it together like her much less post the devil/Hook'em horns over and over like she has.

Studies show smiling makes you happy.

People grieve in different ways.

After my mom passed, I was 16, and I never cried in front of people. I was laughing and joking with friends at the wake.

Before the wake and after, out of the public, I was a mess.

Some people need to put on a strong face.

Common sense tells you having 6 family members murdered makes you sad and depressed.

I mean good for her if she is already over it that quick I guess.

So what? You think she's not sad? She witnessed her entire family get murdered, of course her emotions are going to be a little out of whack

His portrait dictated it to the new Headmaster.

I am not claiming to have any idea what she is going through and I am not saying she has to act a certain way. Just saying it seemed odd to me is all.

Smiling doesn't mean she's over it. She'll probably never get over something like that, and I wouldn't be surprised if she is receiving counseling of some sort.

Showing distress in public isn't mandatory when terrible things happen to you. I don't show much emotion in public, even to close friends and whatnot, and sometimes it's mistaken for being indifferent. It's not the case at all though. Some people just handle things differently.

Jeeze stout, you're kind of douching it up in this thread huh? The sign she's throwing up isn't devil/hook em horns and I'm guessing you're smart enough to know that. Also, there's a ton of pics out there showing this girl crying if that makes you feel any better.

What percentage of twin towers 9/11 widows were happy to have the money they got because of their husbands death rather than having their husband alive? About the same percentage as this teen being happy,
