For those that follow dirt track racing, it starts next weekend.Speed Channel was there a few years back and fox sports 1 showed it last year.

quote:

This year's event will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 14th, 15th and 16th at Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, AR. This crown jewel event will pay $40,000 to win and $2,000 to start with over $130,000 up for grabs in the 100-lap feature.

quote:

The event's unique format will feature cars with the roofs removed, giving spectators an up close and personal look at what it takes for drivers to wrestle their cars around the 3/8 mile dirt oval. The Topless 100 is one of the crown jewel events and trophy that is coveted by racers from all over the country.

Werent there only like 30 cars there last year?

WoO racing in the northeast, I don't think there will be a big car count.

Hope old man moyer wins it in his hometown.

That was the first paint scheme I ever saw him with back in the days of the STARS and MACS series, so was cool too see.

I don't keep up with late models as much as sprint cars these days. I only usually hit the bigger Eldora shows and some other random ones around Ohio.

I use to love to watch Bill Frye race.
I can't believe old man Moyer is still going. He was old the last time I went up there to watch my uncle Race in it.

Looking at that list was flashback central.

Just googled. 57 years old.

Billy Moyer has 775 feature wins (as of December 31, 2013) since he started his auto racing career in 1977 and is the only person to win the prestigious 'World 100' 6 times!!!

Green Flag 2 years ago. Skip to 2:38 mark

quote:

For the second time in his career, Jimmy Owens found victory lane in the COMP Cams Topless 100-Presented by Crop Production Services. The three-time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion took the lead on lap 81 from Don O'Neal and cruised on for the $40,000 victory. Owens had previously won the event back in 2009.
