So I had my first IMAX experience tonight when we saw Guardians of the Galaxy. I thought it was awesome! Do yall think its worth it, or does it differ from movie to movie?

Where is the best place to sit? Up high or down low?

Depends on the movie if it is worth it.

If it is a true IMAX theater sit further back, or you will feel like you are looking upwards; you would definitely have noticed this. And closer to the middle is better.

The only movie worth IMAX was made over 40 years ago.

CGI and IMAX is dumb as shite.

Go watch some docs on IMAX...about the Sea etc. That's more worth it.

We will agree to disagree sir.

I love IMAX for the big blockbusters.

IMO... I don't see how anyone can say bigger, better picture and better audio adds nothing to the movie experience.

I'd say it's worth it.

The only "IMAX" theater near me has a normal size screen. Perhaps they updated the sound, but I won't be back.

Saw Gravity and the Metallica concert movie in IMAX and they looked amazing. It was definitely worth it for those.

IMAX is always worth it. 3D is never worth it.

Those are my opinions.

Only movie I'd want to see on IMAX is Lawrence of Arabia.

(and nature documentaries)

I hate the 3-D revival as much as the next guy but Gravity and Avatar were only worthwhile because of the excellent 3-D.

Although those films are the rare exception to the rule.

To me it's worth it if it's an actual IMAX screen and not some slightly larger screen with imax certification. It has to be the MONSTER screen for it to be worth the premium price.
