Who here would be excited if Romney decided to run again in 2016?

I know I would be more excited with him in than with the current crop that may be running.

Me. I like Eisenhower-Republicans. Plus, Romney has a long list of I-told-you-so moments, especially in regards to Russia.

I would vote for him again. Romney is definitely among the most qualified of potential candidates.

I may not like much about Mitt but I can't deny he's pretty damn good at economics. That first debate was like macroeconomics porn absolutely thumping Obama.

For the record,I voted for him in 2012 and would vote for him in 2016.

frick no.
He's not a fighter. He started a campaign and then quit. His campaign is the third worst Republican presidential campaign I have seen. The only worse ones were McCain and Dole. And those two may have been the worst campaigns in the last 75 years.

Noooo. His message (whatever it is) only reaches a few people, and they were going to vote for him anyway.

His wife has a horse, a horse for Christ's sake, get your head out of your arse.

For all you "no" votes, who would you vote for?

He could win because he has a lot of 2012 tape that turned out to be on the mark.
However, as noted upthread, he definitely ran out of steam towards the end and didn't press his advantages as far as they could have gone.
From a "helping your side win" standpoint, clearing out the primaries and giving him an almost incumbent like smooth ride would be a huge plus but I'm not sure he's either able or willing to endure another two year long gauntlet like the last cycle.

Events of the next 12 months - the economy, Obamacare, the outcome of the 2014 elections, Russia, the Middle East, immigration, the EPA, the IRS situation, etc - all will go a long way in shaping who will be the strongest and most viable candidates. Someone can look good today and and be sinking like a stone by late summer of 2015, and vice versa.
If he does run again, which I doubt as of right now, he needs to rid himself of those Massachusetts incompetents that ran his campaign. Get an all new team, get someone to coach him on how to loosen up in front of a crowd, rid himself of the robot stiffness that that resulted in people paying more attention to his form rather than his substance. And name a competent intelligent female as his running mate to help with the female vote, an area where he really fell down in 2012.

The ONLY reason I'd wanna see Romney run again is so he could say "told you so" on so many topics. Outside of that, he is the same shitbag politician that this country doesn't need.

I think Romney would probably be a decent president. But I don't think he's gong to "excite" anybody.

In a race for the Republican nomination, if it came down to Romney vs. Paul, I opt for a Romney/Paul ticket. I know all the libertarians want it to be Paul, but the establishment will fall behind Romney.
For Romney, the third time is a charm..... if he runs.

I would be more excited with him in than with the current crop that may be running.

I think we've reached a point where perception outweighs policy for most people, unfortunately. If Romney could play a Sax on Arsenio, show up on The View a few times he'd probably do great wonders for his reputation.
