I think this deserves a thread for US national team reasons. A very talented player.

Went the full 90 minutes today in Fulham's first game in the Championship (2-1 loss, shitacular defending).

Obviously Zelalem is the big name as far as young prospects go, and for good reason, but I think Hyndman is going to be talked about more and more as the year goes on.

Excellent technique and vision, easily Fulham's best player today in my completely biased opinion.

Hit 3-4 lovely long cross field passes. Nothing stats wise to back this up, but my guess is he had easily the most touches and passes of any Fulham player(and Fulham had a lot of the ball).

This is all an overreaction I know, but he looks like a potential legit DLP type. Good touch, good vision, good passing ability.

Announcers were very complimentary.

Is a fricking stud. I was going to create this thread myself but you beat me to it

Shitacular defending pretty much sums it up.

I'm pretty sure Scott Parker had more touches but Hyndman looked like he has been playing pro for years. The commentators even said so.

Yeah, you could be right about the touches.

Just from a Fulham fan's perspective (and ignoring the fact that I'll never be as invested in them as I am the US team), it took me about 10 minutes to realize I would much rather have the ball at his feet than Parker's.

I was pretty surprised at how good he looked. I'm trying not to overreact too much.

Parker is a solid player but terrible at advancing it up the field. Hyndman looked really good making advanced passes and switching the ball around. He was very comfortable out there, and his intelligence and spacing off the ball was phenomenal.

Fulham forum. People talking about player of the game. Lots of praise for Hyndman.

Hyndman was getting hype as a 12 year old. I believe he was training with the FC Dallas first team around that age. What I worry about both Hydnman and Zelalem is that they both are not exactly physical specimens. Who knows if they can survive the heavy challenges they will encounter in the English game.

This is true, and the championship is especially physical.

Hyndman moved to Fulham's academy at 14 I believe. At 15 he was supposedly playing in FC Dallas reserve team games and looking like the best player on the field. Since then he's been a huge asset to Fulham's team that got to the FA Youth Cup final.

He's not a big guy obviously, but he didn't look out of place physically to me.

I expected him to appear more "lightweight" for what it's worth.

One thing that's hard to quantify is that he almost always appeared to have space. And when he didn't he handled it well. Movement off the ball is something that we have a problem with, and something that's rarely discussed.

This is why I hate Parker. It's like his main goal is to avoid messing up too badly. So conservative. Never plays the forward pass.

Totally agree. Was a bit surprised. He was a bit bigger than I thought he was.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hyndman has excellent positional sense, seeing as he's probably played with older age groups and has probably always been one of the smallest players on the field. But it's the English game, and the first resort for opposing players who can't keep up with technical players is to kick them.

I hope Hyndman gets a lot of game time this season. Fulham seem to be dedicated to youth, and they've maybe had the best youth set up in London the past couple of years.

I would be surprised if Hyndman doesn't get called up for the friendly in Prague.
