Rand Paul makes himself look like every other politician out there. (its kinda funny too)

LINK

I get changing your stance. just dont deny it, and dont lie about it. As John Stewart points out - "own it". ...and explain it.

Not many (if any) politicians seem to be capable of this these days.

I liked Stewart back when he was a comedian with some insight. Now that he believes himself to be a pundit, I can't stand him.

Jon Stewart is the most useful democrat in the country. Over 75% of people age 18-29 in the country watch his show nightly.

I know Paul suggested ending foreign aid altogether but I don't recall it being directed specifically at Israel.

Stewart puts a comedic twist on it, but Paul is busted lying. thats more the point of this thread.

watch the video. thats why hes doing an about-face. He cant win the presidency, and possibly re-election without the Isreali lobby.

Bob, why do you think Stewart is so one-sided in people he chooses to attack? I don't think he has ever, not once, attacked a democrat.

I don't open links but are you stating Rand Paul specially urged cutting off funds to Israel?

As far as I know, Stewart has never eviscerated:

A) Obama
B) Either Clinton

youre spot on. The Fox crew exposes dems for their lies.

My point in this thread is that Rand seemed to talk as if hes a new type of politician - an outsider of sorts, however hes obviously not very different as hes demonstrated hes going to flop his position to follow the money, and then deny he ever held that position.

The hallmark of a "good" [typical] politician.

You definitely don't watch his show then. He has gone off on both

in the video, wolf blizter says something like, "so lets be clear - youre recommending cutting off all foreign aid to Isreal?" and Rand says "Yes".

He also included it in his budget proposal (which he also denied)

How often does Stewart hold establishment Dems' feet to the fire over hypocrisy, etc.? Paul is fairly new to the scene and Stewart jumps on him immediately.

Clinton, yes.

Obama-well not directly. He has "attacked" him for not being liberal enough. He has also mocked several parts of his administration, most notably the ACA website roll out.

However, never has he attacked Obama personally. Never made fun of any of his traits; unless you count "not being forceful enough with Republicans" as a trait.

Whereas republicans are just morons and/or evil.

attacking the speaker is fine but that doesn't change the fact that he made a legitimate point.
