Garfunkel & Oates?

Anyone check out the premiere last night on IFC?
It wasn't bad. I'd hate to be over obvious and compare them to Flight of the Conchords but id imagine if u like one you'll like the other.
Thought the writing was good. Great cameo by Ben Kingsley and appearances by Natasha Leggero and Jeselnik (who killed it). Rob Heubel (sp?) plays the voice of their agent (I had to look it up it was bothering me) and I'm pretty sure Fred savage directed it.
It's not lol stuff but I'll give it another watch.

I meant to try to catch this. I've watched some of their videos on youtube. I thought that it was pretty clever, but it seemed like the novelty of their act wore off pretty quickly for me.

I think the dialogue/jokes in the show are better than the songs. Jmo.

Watched the first short on hbo a while back and was pretty annoyed. But kate micuchi (sp?) was pretty funny on raising hope.

It was pretty bad. I actually like Garfunkel and Oates but their stuff is not meant for longer form.

I like them. Their youtube vids, HBO shorts, and standup bits have always made me chuckle.

IFC plays their commercials every 5 seconds during Batman it seems. I was really hoping it would be an awesome show, to make up for me seeing the ads so much.

Their comedy special was pretty funny, I'll have to check this show out
