Unfortunately, the first was called back due to a penalty. But here's hoping he catches 60-65 balls this season, and drops less than 5.

Let's see if he makes it out of camp first (likely to now due to Dobson being hurt)

If Boyce shows well on Kickoffs and Dobson is healthy, I could definitely see Lafell getting papers.

He's been pretty bad in camp.

Malcolm Butler looks really good

Not a lock, but he will be on the roster.

Amendola and Dobson are both injury prone. And Lafell has a diff skill set than Edelman, Boyce, and Thompkins. Lafell brings a good bit of versatility at that position. He's not great by any means, but does a lot more than stats show and can contribute a lot of diff ways.

I'm not saying he's a lock by any means, but I'm pretty confident he makes the team.

It's just tight numbers is all

Dobson-lock
Dola- lock
Edleman- lock
Slater- lock
Thompkins-lock

And then you've got Boyce and Lafell. Kind of tough to carry 7 WRs.

Now of course it's an easier decision if Dobson starts off the season on the Pup list

Oh I agree with you.

But still 2 of their top 3 WRs are very injury prone, in Amendola and Dobson. And I love Slater and what he brings to the team as a special teamer, but hes caught 1 ball in his career as a WR. And im a Kenbrell fan, but its not like hes on a diff level than Lafell. They are on the same level IMO. Average NFL WRs. I think its safe to say that Edelman, Amendola, and Dobson are ahead of Lafell...but I think the rest of the WRs are pretty much on the same level.

The big thing for me is that the Pats need another big body WR that can be an insurance policy in case Dobson misses time. And Lafell fits that and has a diff skill set than the other WRs on that roster.

And Brady seems to like him as well, with his comments the other day about Lafell being a big body WR and he likes that alongside his "pygmies" in Amendola and Edelman

Im sure you have read this article... I read it when he was signed by Pats and its kinda how I feel about the signing LINK It just fits and makes a lot of sense, considering the injury issues at WR for the Pats, lack of size, and Lafells versatility.
