AT&T data plan problems

Starting about six months ago I get 2-3 of these messages every month:


AT&T Free Msg: 100% of the additional 1 GB of data was used. We've added another 1 additional GB of data & $10 will be added to your next bill. To check your data use, go to myatt.att.com or dial *DATA# (*328



I'm sick of this crap!!! My data plan has been fine for the last four years. Why is it not enough lately? I've used my phone less the last two months than I normally do and I still get them. I upgraded 1 GB two months ago and I still get them. I'm about to drop att.


Does this happen to anyone else?

It's happened to me on the last day of the billing cycle twice in the last 6 months.

Yes!! This has been happening to me all the time for the past 6 months or so. I would say 1-3 times a month on average.

Facebook started auto play on videos. Making the carrier millions. Go to your phones settings. Under video turn auto play off or on wifi only.

I never watch videos on Facebook.

I've had this problem lately too. I suspect much of it has to do with all of the push notifications and location services from various apps. I try to turn this off as much as possible, but it is often difficult to keep track of.

If you have android, use Tasker to turn mobile data off when connected to wifi. Went from 10gb to 1.5gb per month

Track your data on your phone and see what you are using. I doubt it is the fault of AT&T
