Civ 5 complete edition

I bought this like a week ago get it in the mail. shows a dvd. Put in DVD in tray installs steam icon on my desktop. I then try to connect and it says steam server unavailable please try again later. its been doing this for a day now. is there any hope i will get to install this game?

Heck thats all i wanted was to load the software from the DVD onto my computer. Hell if this is the future of gaming then give me the old DVD

Next time just buy it on steam. No idea how to fix your issue.

First I would uninstall steam. Then download the steam app from the web and not from the civ 5 dvd. Did the game come with a code that you can use on steam?

yes it did come with code. Oh tuna you getting me excited . is there anything else i need to do. Will it give me the option to enter the code online?

I think it was like $5 the other day on Steam.
Do you have any sort of download time setting on steam? If you do you'll have to uncheck that.

If you are able to get the steam app running. Click on Games on the top bar then Activate Product on Steam with the code the game supplied to you.
