Anyone have any experience with Amazon Fire TV

Yeah, I have had one for a few months now. XBMC is a snap to set up and runs smooth. It can also run older game emulators pretty well. They have done a better job sorting out the Prime eligible shows from the ones your gotta pay far, but it can still be a bit confusing to someone that isn't familiar with it. Set a passcode for buying stuff and you should be fine. I like that it will shut off your display (on newer TV models, older ones will just go to a black screen) instead of a screensaver, so when I fall asleep the TV will basically turn itself off. Netflix is still overriding that feature though, and your TV will stay on and the screensaver will not engage, so be careful falling asleep with Netflix. This also happens with my Roku 3 box, so it is a Netflix issue, not Amazon.

I did same thing. I am using plex as well. It is awesome. The interface is great and I can actually use my iTunes library off my imac. It also will let you stream stuff remotely to any device that has the app not just the fire tv. It was definitely worth the 5 dollars instead of having to root my firetv and go through all the hackish methods to get that to work. I am starting to realize sometimes it is just worth paying for shite.
One thing about the interface, It actually organizes your movies and puts them as thumbnails with the correct box for movie/tvshow. I am not totally familiar with others as I just used the xbox 360, but plex makes your movies and tv shows as easy to navigate as like netflix or prime does.

I've been Thinking about getting the amazon box for a while since I got rid of cable.

Can someone post the tutorial they used to install the good add ons?
