I didn't want to bump that other thread.

quote:

My sources indicate that when [Batman V Superman] opens Batman has existed for close to thirty years, which would place Wayne in his 50s (which is why I expected more grey in Affleck’s hair). In this version Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture. But he’s had plenty of adventures, and the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume.
quote:

By the way, my sources tell me that Wonder Woman has also been in operation for some time before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice* begins, and her activities have been just as secretive as Batman’s. Her activities were badass as well… but in a very different, and unexpected, way.

Too much in that other thread. It's time to start a new one.

I like that they are introducing him with his backstory and career already established, I just don't think Affleck is old enough to pull that off.

He's 41. They need to age him at least 9 years. He has a young face. It's hard to tell with that picture, but he could pass for 45-50.

That just leads to the same fights happening again and again and again. Someone new comes in and sees that no one has brought up X, they post their manifesto and off we go again.

It's like rebooting the DC universe. You end up having to watch the Waynes get gunned down all over again.

so has he ever fought a supervillain in this version? And he is a completely different batman from the Christian Bale batman, correct? So that universe has nothing to do with this one?

I hope it has JGL face in it.

i think i like this the most. i was wondering what they would do about robin. i like the idea of him having that loss already and brings that experience and pain to the other heroes and also of how evil the villains can be.

At least people won't quote stuff from two months ago.

The tattered Robin costume makes me think he's already fought Joker.

The great thing is they can leave his past vague, and introduce villains in later movies. And they can choose to say whether or not he's already fought said villain before.

I wish we'd get more movies where the superhero is already established and we don't have to wade through another three act origin movie.

It sounds like they are nailing Batman so far.

See i was thinking that too, but if he's just some urban legand, some myth, it makes me want to know how he faught the big villains without gaining any notoriety.

Although i think that already makes me like him even more.

Agreed. Comic movies have been some of the most popular movies for what...14 years now. people for the most part know about these characters so we don't need to re-hash everything.

We've had so many adaptations of Batman. He just had a trilogy. GL sucked arse. It's time to just get into the good shite. Give everyone a cameo in this one and let's get the JL started.

I like that he's already established, but 30 years? Wow that's a lot. Better to simply leave it vague.
