Every year we have a family get together at a Friends camp on False River and every year I bass fish in the mornings and evenings. We usually pick up 5-8 fish per morning but always stink it up in the afternoons. I know I could fish at night but this is a family vacation so night will be reserved for having some fun with them

Any way what are your go to colors on False River? I have always done well with Wat/Red and light blue color soft plastics, White Lunker Lure, and shad color rattle traps. Give me some other suggestions to try! Thanks in advance.

Been a long time since I've been to False River. But if this:

Wat/Red and light blue color soft plastics, White Lunker Lure, and shad color rattle traps

is what you've always done, I would stick with it.

Update with your results. We have a camp on False River but I've never fished it.

Reason is all the heavy boat traffic out there on weekends. Water goes to crap by the end of the day.

I live a mile from the lake and used to fish it all the time. Now, I refuse to fish it.

Look at the ridges on the shoreline and imagine those ridges being the same underwater. If there is a hill on the shore the drop-offs should be the same under water so fish it that way. There are lots of hills on the shoreline of False River that give away what it looks like underwater.

Crank baits, big ones, retrieved out from the seawalls to the boat along the docks. Like DT22 big

What is the latest on the false river draw down and dredge project? Is that still in the works. False river fishing has dropped off over the years.
