Neither one had to dive. Even this guy didn't have to fully extend and ended up catching it in his palm almost dropping it.

You don't think Foster had to jump/dive to make that play???

Foster's was certainly more timely
9th inning game saver > 1st inning sac fly

He jumps up more than out. And he hangs in the air. Had he just kept running, he would have gone right under it... It looks great the way he did it though.

I'm really not... I was saying the exact same thing when it happened. And I gave my reasoning.

Foster had the best catch I've ever seen and had some significance to it too. He misses that catch, we lose the game

Without that catch we get swept... and likely wouldn't have hosted a regional regardless of those last 10 games.

Your reasoning is shite. ball goes over his head if he doesn't jump.

I think Foster had to jump/dive or he doesn't make the play. This guy did not, in fact this dude even slowed up before the dive.

If you pause the video, you can see Foster mostly jumps up when me makes the catch. He timed it great. It looks really cool. I just don't think it was something he HAD to do to make the catch.

He caught the ball at its highest point while being fully extended. He had to jump

He caught the ball at the very top of his jump

So you agree he's jumping mostly up. That's my point. He's up and hanging in the air while he could have taken two steps to reach and get under it. That's all I'm saying.
