Corey Kluber of the Cleveland Indians has been downright nasty. Its a crying arse shame he was snubbed for the All Star Game. They guy he faced tonight (Alfredo Simon), ironically made the ASG for the Reds and was no match. He is 12-6 and on an amazing run. In his last 6 starts Corey Kluber has done the following:

5-0
1.39 ERA
50 K
25 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

This guy has it all. Can bring the heat, throw the slider, curve and change up. He is in complete control of his game right now. That begs the question. If he can keep this up, can he win the Cy Young? I think so!

Thats it? Thats all you got? The fact that Kluber has out pitched both of them head to head means nothing to you?

yea his performance in 2 games matters more than the entire season where he's giving up a half a run more per 9 than they are, or that his WHIP is higher, or that Sale and Felx have better ERA+, etc

You can pick out stats and make an argument for anyone. Look at the fact that Kluber has more W's, K's and WAR. All im saying is Kluber IS in the discussion!

Were they pitching to the same line up? If not, I fail to see the relevance.

I guess he's in the discussion, but that award is going to either Felix or Sale and you know it. Kluber has really impressed me, however. I remember when he was called up in 2012 and thought he was a gas can. He's steadily improved and looks like he has legitimate ace stuff

Well he has more starts

24 Kluber
23 Hernandez
17 Sale

He does not have more strikeouts
177 Kluber
178 Hernandez
119 Sale

ERA+

147 Kluber
186 Hernandez
190 Sale

K per 9
9.6 Kluber
9.7 Herandez
10.0 Sale

ERA
2.55 Kluber
2.01 Herandez
2.09 Sale

Innings Pitched
165.2 Kluber
165.1 Hernandez
116.0 Sale

So is he worthy? Yea
Will he win? Not unless Felix has a meltdown

Kazmir beat Kluber head to head this season. In fact, Kazmir destroyed him, "head to head"

quote:

Kluber: 3.1 innings pitched, 8 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, 1 homerun

Kazmir: 7.1 innings pitched, 3 hits, 0 earned runs, 0 walks, 5 strikeouts, 0 homerun

Kazmir has a better record, WHIP, and ERA than Kluber.

Therefore, Kazmir > Kluber

Scott Kazmir isnt out of the question for a Cy Young. I never said he wasnt worthy (by the way, Cleveland blew that not resigning him), all im saying is that Corey Kluber has put himself in the discussion. Guy is a legit Ace. For anybody to say that he isnt, hasnt been watching baseball. Kluber has some electric stuff.

By the way, because Sale missed so much time with injury, i think that ends any chance he wins it. JMO

fine. He's in the discussion as one of the top 5 or so pitchers in the AL this season

but he's not better than Felix or Sale
