Bayou Francois (Sorrento) and Pumping Station Fishing

Yes you can. Either put in off laurel ridge or you can put in at the old pj's off 22

I'm not sure but i would think it has something to do with flood control..

During storms you would close the boat channel and still be able to pump from the Gonzalez/St. Amant side into the lake.. This is all considering that the lake would be relatively high because of storm surge.

I used to put in at Bayou Paul. Never did great fishing there. Could catch a lot when water was draining from the crawfish ponds going towards PJs landing. Also, there are a ton of cuts on the long straight stretch on the other side of the pumping station. Sometimes they hold some goggle eye. But most of the time I didn't catch much.

The launch off Paul road is the old PJs Landing.

Awesome just what I'm looking to do.


What about the blind river area and smith bayou? It seems blind river would be too much boat traffic.

There is a boat way on the north side of the pumping station.

It's seems like a recurring theme with the Blind River/Amite areas. Always a hurricane that decimated the fish pop.
