Interesting they want to tax sugar because of it's health implications yet they want to continue to subsidize foods with sugar in them with food stamps.
If sugar is so harmful why do they give food stamps to people to buy it???
Why are they so mean to the poor?

An incredibly regressive tax

The republicans should ally with these crazies and start limiting the foods that can be purchased with food stamps.

Welcome to America where everything is YOUR fault. It's your fault for putting sugar in ice cream, not my fault for consuming 8 gallons a week

What a stupid fricking cow.
The clip in the link - 'soda is only a dollar, but blueberries are over 3 dollars.' So instead of removing all the taxes that cause blueberries to cost 3 dollars, she wants to put a tax on the soda.
And, as stated above, why are food stampers allowed to buy soda on our dime?

Wasn't the sugar tax one of the main complaints colonists had against great Britian

Tobacco taxes, in the excessive form that they are found today, are the exact same kind of regressive tax.

Suggest an abortion tax and they'll lose their damn minds.

She must really mean to tax high-fructose corn syrup and not real sugar. Of course, I am assuming she knows the difference (which I doubt).
"A Princeton University research team has demonstrated that all sweeteners are not equal when it comes to weight gain: Rats with access to high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those with access to table sugar, even when their overall caloric intake was the same."
