Time to chuck the PC and go Tablet at the house. This will be an internet machine... no gaming, no downloading movies, music etc. Don't need a data plan, since I'll only use it over WIFI at the house.

I'm not touching Windows 8, so I'm assuming Droid would be the easiest since I use a Samsung Galaxy.

Give me some recs for a big affordable android tablet that can handle TD and all the other crap on the web.

Got it on the Nexus 7... what about a larger tablet in the 10" to 11" range?

Nexus 7

I'd go with the Nexus 7 as well!

We have a Nexus 7 and a Galaxy Note 8.0 at the house. Both are awesome, but I prefer the Note 8 because of the stylus and added functionality.

Bumping to the top due the edit in the OP. Any opinions on the 10.1" Samsung tab?

I vote nexus 10. Its an older tablet, but it still runs smoother than every other tablet on the market. I would look into grabbing a used one since it'll be significantly cheaper than new

wait a month or 2. rumors of new nexus tabs coming out soon. last i have heard would be 8". Could see the usual ASUS and samsung releasing new ones soon as well in the 10-11" ranch.

my wife and I both have the original note 10.1 and I have no bad things to say about it.

I bought it primarily because of the integrated Wacom digitizer in the screen. I use it at work for taking notes, drawing, and sketching and the note 10.1 was the only Android tablet that had the digitizer at that time. I no longer carry around a pen and pad with me everywhere and that has been nice.

if that functionality isn't all that important to you, then it is probably just a crapshoot in my opinion.
