Have you noticed an improvement in Customer Service and wait times over the last month?

Have they made any improvements or offered special deals during that period?

I'm just wondering how they're reacting to Uber.

Competition does that to poor businesses.

As the resident BR cab rider of the OT, I wont be back in town until late this month. I will report my findings when I return

I gave uberx a test last week going to the airport and used a cab on return today. I was getting picked up from a hotel. The UberX driver had to be waiting in his nearby apartment when i booked him. Took him a good 15 minutes to arrive and i passed on many taxis while waiting for him. $16 total for the ride. Car was a bit small but in good shape.

I jumped right in the taxi at IAH. care was clean and nice. $28 back to the hotel.

So Uber was $12 cheaper for the same distance? Was the cab ride a flat rate?

Getting a cab at an airport is seldom a problem.

I noticed a few cabs waiting to take people outside of Uncle earls the other night. I took an uber and laughed as i pulled out of the parking lot.

No. The meter was running. Which surprised me. I thought it was a flat rate. Didn't feel like arguing. One of the big benefits of Uber IMO. Honest rates.

Cab availability in houston is never a problem, IMO.

so that's the "cabbie strategy" to Uber.....To hang out at airports and charge everybody the same rate no matter where you want to go.

Unless your hotel was downtown, looked like you may have come out cheaper LINK

ETA: just realized you meant Houston
