My house note is way less than half of the auto payments and student loan payments people are stating. And I put very little down. Down sized to prepare for retirement now that kids are grown. House note less than apt rent.

Bought a small old house in a historic area that has never been updated. Will have to put more out in updates but can pay cash for that along the way.

Consider the real estate axiom:

"Never buy the biggest or the smallest house in a neighborhood."

I just report, I don't have an opinion.

Once I did have the biggest and most valuable house in a neighborhood. I do not recommend anyone doing the same.

Nope, mandeville..house was in mid- construction when project was shut down and put up for sale. I scooped up on the cheap!

I did sink a lot of cash into it to keep payments low..

My rent is $1895 for an 1100 sq ft loft. Not really a big payment but its big for 1100 sq ft with zero bedrooms and 1 bath!

Not a damn thing Just saying if he has a 3200 sq ft house and is only paying 1,200 a month he either put down around 300,000 on it or built it in Bunkie(or my hometown Brusly )
