Fair warning, this board loves to shite on Superior. I've never been for brunch but I always thought it was above average tex-mex.

Didn't even know they did a brunch. Which location are you looking to go? From my years of experience I can say with confidence that the Shreveport location is the only Superior left putting out good food. The New Orleans one is shite.

how has the superior grill on st charles managed to stay in business? that place might be the worst mexican or tex mex restaurant i've ever been to.

Superior in BR & B'ham suck granted I've only been once to
B'ham. Shreveport is great food and nightlife.

Nola is a great party and Rita's. Average food. I like it bc the frozen Rita's are the best in the city. You can easily find 1 thing you like and stick to it if you're in a Rita mood.

Women love margarita's. Look at a place like Velvet Cactus, crappy food but always crowded.

It's in a great spot on St. Charles. I'm sure it isn't going anywhere anytime soon, not to mention, NOLA isn't a magnet for quality Mexican as is.

Killer location.

Frankly, I've eaten at the place maybe 7 or 8 times for whatever reasons at the time. It's definitely mediocre. I wouldn't say it's the worst Mexican around. There's a salad that's okay in a pinch.

Shreveport location has really gone down hill the last couple of years. Superior was never more than average to begin with but they have been having problems at the original location and the food has noticeably declined in the last 2-3 years. They are simply fortunate people pay top dollar for everclear based overpriced margaritas and their name continues to sustain them. One could pick any of 30 Mexican places in houston that could destroy superior in any of their markets. I for one wonder how superior seafood can compete in the New Orleans market.

This, except I prefer my ritas on the rocks. There are some many shittier places that deserve the kind of hate Superior gets.

Why would a shittier place have their kind of business? Doesn't make much sense, does it?

The reason it gets the hate it does is because it is so wildly popular and so mediocre to bad.

If no one ever went there, no one would care.
