Do you have a pic from an actual competitive FIBA game? I'm wondering if these were just the standard baskets used at UNLV's arena.

FIFY

They've already played a ton of Summer league games in this gym and doesn't UNLV play there and this is the first time this has happened.

They need to find an alternative, but this is still a freak accident.

Yeah ESPN was just reporting on that.

Never realized the FIBA baskets were so close, but a quick Google image search seems to confirm that.

I thought it was rather short, but I x'd it out after watching the vine video 2-3 times, before I could confirm.

Looks like a lot of FIBA uses the US college stanchion while the nba uses a different set up

Windhorst just tweeted a pic of the support at Thomas and Mack and it is much closer than an nba support

I honestly didn't know there was a difference

Thats what I assumed. FIBA games are played in all types of crappy arenas with different types of baskets.

I hate how close everything is to the court - fans, baskets, tables, benches, etc. They should have plenty of room on all sides of the court to play to the full extent of their abilities without any added risk of injuries.

Couldn't agree more. No reason for idiots to be sitting that close taking pictures with cameras that could get the same quality of picture from anywhere in the arena.
These 7 foot athletes are moving fast. Give them some run
