Had anyone found a better app for traffic updates than Waze? Also solid for the "police ahead" warnings.

IMO, I think it's the best out there at the moment.

Can't beat it for traffic or cops.

Never take a road trip without it.

Place the iPhone in my CD player mount, turn on Waze and I am set.

Only annoyance is the "car on the side of the road" warnings. Who cares?

Google recently purchased Waze so I would imagine you will see Waze features integrated into Google maps.

I'm already getting waze updates through Google maps. A notification will appear from Google maps saying something like "traffic accident ahead via waze app". I enjoy the waze app itself but the map and navigation is so much better via Google maps. I look forward to see how much more they merge the two

I agree, but they need to add the police alerts to google maps

Love Waze, I occasionally use waze and Google maps at the same time for comparison. Google needs to integrate the strengths of both. Would be amazing.

Waze rocks. It hits you up almost the instant a major traffic accident occurrs. Closest to real time heads up there is.

Absolutely its high point. Routing has some work to do. Trusting established map editors is another. Took me forever to become a level 2 editor after telling them what I do in my local area. If you see an alert by JT Chance take it to the bank. My hidden police alert is your warning.....to stay less than 15 over the limit.

People who like to keep an eye out for someone walking on the shoulder so they don't hit them + people attempting to find their stranded motorist friends.

Yeah I agree. I actually like to know about vehicles on the side of the road ahead of time particularly when I'm flying down the interstate at 75mph

Pfffft. I will run you right off the road if you think 75 is flying!

I used Waze today and several times was going between 95 and 100 and I wasn't leading! It was like a pack of Waze users. We knew there were no po-po around, so no use just waiting! Just geaux!

Waze is 100000 times more efficient than my old $400 Valentine 1 radar detector

I was using it last night on the drive from BR to New Orleans. Unfortunately there was no "mattress in the road" warning or I would've helped a few people out

Honestly the most useful and beneficial app in my life.

Damn, I'm gonna have to start checking it out again. I had heard good things and downloaded it, but was disappointed. It missed traffic, inaccurate speeds, gave me routes that I knew were longer than the one I normally take.

There's usually very few users identified on the map. Is this normal for BR? I figured the BR Waze population was just low so I stopped using it.

Yeah, as the user base grows, more info is available. I doubt it would be that useful until it hits a certain usage level. I'm more of a moocher of the info (I don't really contribute to the "slow traffic, car on the side" part of it).

Glad to see positive feedback for Waze here. I love it and use it daily. Get in truck, NFC tag to fire GPS and Waze (and turn off wifi).

Honestly it is most useful for mid to longer range commutes or trips. If you live 5 minutes from work it probably won't be as valuable as if you are 45 min.

I was able to get on the Waze beta test team which is pretty cool to use/test the newest features. It really does keep improving all the time.

The biggest question is how does the Google acquisition impact the app. Time will tell I suppose.
