I wanting to turn my sunroom into a man room. Trouble is its well a sun room so there will be a lot of light coming in. I haven't bought a TV in around a year and glare wasn't an issue with the placement of that one.

You'll still get glare on an LED, but the brighter display will offset it better than a plasma.

Yes. You'll get glare off of any display if it has direct sunlight on it. LED happens to perform the best in this regard unless you get something like a Sunbright which can be viewed in direct sunlight.

Don't just go into a store and pick up any LED. Mine is actually glossy. Some models are glossy while others are matte. Glossy is for the clarity. Look for the matte.

This. If you have direct sunlight then you will have a problem no matter what. If it's just a well lit room then LED with the matte finish should do.

How does that effect the picture quality?

Luckily it's not the sunniest of sun rooms. I have a good bit of trees in the back yard which blocks the sun a good but this time of the year, but when football season rolls around that will be another issue. Also the room is facing the west so it will be the worst in the evening right about time for the good games to start.

Any way you could shade it from direct light?

I believe the matte is a film over glass. It won't be too much of a difference but the blacks and sharpness will be down a little.

I bought a specific LED from LG a few years back since it had a little matte finish in the screen to help with glare.

What about if it is going to be outside in the elements? I understand the LED matte will be the best for glare but is one type (LED, Plasma, LCD) better for exterior (Patio Cover) exposure? It will be covered when not in use.

If it is going to be in the elements you should get a Sunbrite or you are going to be replacing it regularly. By in the elements I mean exposed to the weather. You also won't get a decent image in direct sunlight unless you have a Sunbrite out there.

So another man is taking care of your daughter, paying her bills, and you're o'kay with that? You're pathetic, dude. You don't need to be looking at TVs. You need to be paying your daughter's tuition.
