I want a good revolver. Long lasting, probably aluminum or stainless.

I don't know much about guns honestly. But my favorite to carry is my .38 special. It's a cheaper older colt and I was wanting a newer maybe smaller revolver.

(I already have a 380, 9mm and 22 semi)

What type of Colt do you have now?

The Ruger LCR is roughly the same size in the hand as a Colt Cobra, Detective special, or agent.

Are you wanting to buy new or used?

What hole do you want it to fill considering your existing handguns? i.e. range, home protection, concealed carry, etc.?

For a carry gun the ruger LCR .357 is a great choice, even if you don't like .357 recoil. The little bit of extra weight makes it more controllable with .38's and you have the option to use magnums if you choose.

For a heavier gun, a ruger SP101 is a good choice that you can actually run magnums through with reasonable comfort (for such a small gun)

And there's always the smith and wesson 642 without the internal hammer lock. If you'll never use magnums and you know it without a doubt, this is your best choice.

If you're not looking for a compact, the options open up a whole lot.

That gun kicks like hell and is totally inaccurate but is an outstanding concealed carry piece due to its light weight and size.

ETA: the 642 is a perfect choice for concealed carry or to keep in your car to drop in your pocket when in a dangerous neighborhood. Don't expect accuracy beyond 15 feet.

The guns usually aren't inaccurate. They're just difficult to shoot. The kick hard and have crappy sights with a barrel that isn't much longer than the cartridge. They're definitely very close range weapons in all but the most experienced hands.

Don't even get started on air weight .357s. I've never shot one, but I can imagine the recoil is wrist snapping.

This is pretty much universally true with all pistols. Rarely do some exhibit terrible "accuracy" at reasonable ranges. Usually errant shot placement is attributable to a gun that has a bad trigger or bad sights, making it difficult to shoot and not "inaccurate."

I can't hit shite past 15' with the .357 I have. I've never run .38 through it though. One day, maybe Sunday I'll give it a try. Headed to the range to shoot my AR for the first time.

what i have:

won it at an auction out of the bucket games.

S&W are nice but expensive. Rugers are cheaper but still are good guns.

I have a ruger sp 101 3 inch barrel and I love it. Shooting 357 loads are not bad at all. They make sp 101 in 4 inch and 2 inch so you have a couple of choices.

I would stay away from aluminum guns. You really are not suppose to shoot + p rounds in those guns. It just limits your ammo choices. I would go with a 357 mag and be able to choose from: 357, 38 special, and 38 +p ammo.

concealed carry,

I have the 22 for carrying in my shorts and stuff.

But I'm currently getting my legit concealed carry (been carrying sans permit to do so )

I got a 380 cheap last year, but I just prefer revolvers. Personal preference.

I like the hammer-less guns.

Napoleaon,
First and MOST important question: WHAT is the intended PURPOSE of the new revolver???
e.g. plinking, 22 LR.
concealed carry, prob a 5 shot 38 Spec.
bear protection, Ruger Redhawk in 44 Mag, 45 Colt or 454 Casull,
home defense gun, truck gun, etc.
