You arent too late. As long as the deal isnt signed yet you still have bargaining power

The bargaining power comes from being willing and able to switch to another provider, not from whatever content DirecTV does or doesn't have.

Yes I understand. But this SEC network deal has given customers alot more weight to throw around. If you just randomly call Directv without any real reason they usually offer maybe a $5 incentive. But when they know it is legit such as this, they treat you alot better

If SEC Network is part of ESPN,

and ESPN hates LSU,

then SEC Network hates LSU.

I just got off the phone with Direct TV and they representative did not know anything about a deal being struck. I still have 14 months on my new re-up in September. My buy out is 20 dollars a month. At the end of the first year, my rate goes up by $30. I told the guy that if we don't get the SEC Network, I will save money by taking the buy out. He gave me $5 dollars off. Also, they had started billing me $40 dollars a month for the NFL network. I told him the NFL doesn't even play games until September. And he said that is how they spread out the payment. I told him that I didn't ask for the NFL network. He said they gave it to me free the first year and I needed to cancel of they would continue the charge. Be aware.

Yeah they got me last month on this. My bill was a few bucks short of 200 and that's without internet. I cancelled all my movies channels and went down a package and they should be using the money they charged me towards my next bill. They didn't offer me anything. They even messed up my discounts they promised me when I signed up. I'm not impressed.

And I bet the month before they charged they had a charge of $0.00 for NFL Sunday Ticket that you didn't pay attention to. That is their way of prepping you for the upcoming charge.

Did Cox ever announce what tier it will be on.
I have the tier with ESPN U so I assume if I have that I will get it, they just might increase my bill for SEC coming on board.

The money comes from my bank account each month and I don't get paper billing. If I did get paper billing and I didn't have to deal with writing a check each month, I probably wouldn't even open it. I know, I should be more vigilant.

I would assume that their CEO knows more than Shaniqua.

They make this VERY clear when you sign up for a package like that. Even once you have been charged they have absolutely zero problem cancelling it and giving you a refund.
