Its in the old Galatoires place... Can't really find much info on it. Its close to the house and if its worth a shite would be nice to have something decent close.
Any reviews?

Wifey and I went there on Friday (8/1).

It was miserable. Arguably the worst meal I have had in Baton Rouge.

Positives (and there were only a few):
Server was friendly and apologetic. I felt sorry for him by the end
Live signing act was good.
Atmosphere was solid.

Negatives:
Price: $100 for 2 without liquor. 1 app/2 mains. Completely over the top for the food quality and the wait time (see below)

Wait time. It was a solid hour between our appetizer being finished and our main course arriving. In that hour nothing came out of the kitchen for anyone. At least we all starved together.

Food Quality: Wifey ordered the seared scallops in a pasta of some type. They brought out the pasta without any scallops and the scallops came out 10 minutes later. Weird. Obviously the servers finally said “just give me what you have” I ordered the pork chop wrapped in bacon with crab meat on top. It was a disaster. Dry and under cooked at the same time. I didn’t know this was possible. The crab meat was so salty it was almost inedible. Terrible. Plus it was $38. $28 for the chop and $10 for the crab meat. Ridiculous.

A couple behind us came in, saw the menu and actually left. We should have followed.

Don’t go.

Hell, I'd bet that prior to the order.

I hope for your sake the menu didn't show the price. You didn't order that with the price posted, did you?

Buddy of mine went Saturday. Said he had to send his $48 ribeye back twice. 1st time was over cooked second time was under cooked. They ended up taking it off the bill.

It'd have to be a large ribeye for me.

I got to try it for free to review it for a magazine and thought it was ok, but you could tell they were rolling out the red carpet treatment for us. I had the salmon entree and it was good not great and I think is $30 on the menu.

The place has some good apps and a cool bar area with a lot of tvs, I would go for a few beers and an app, but with the high prices and not great food quality I wouldn't go drop $200+ on dinner with the wife.

Went with my husband for lunch one day last week. The lunch specials are very affordable. He had an eggplant pasta dish for $10 that was excellent. I had a half shrimp poboy and crab bisque that was about the same price and very tasty. They offer homemade potato chips with the soup/sandwich that are delicious. The service is very very slow, so don't go if you are in a hurry.

Is it trying to be like a Little Village type place, or is it a place I can sit at the bar while I watch Monday Night Football?

you could easily sit at the bar or at a high top table near the bar and be less fancy. They show sports on the tvs

Tried this place for lunch a couple weeks ago. Save your money and go elsewhere. I ordered the burger and got an overworked meatloaf-like hockey puck. Co-worker had the same result.

Overheard the table next to us ask about the oysters. They were told that "Jay" wasn't there but would be in later & he's the one who normally shucks them but someone could do it if they really wanted them. The table had ordered 2 soups and the waiter came out about 15 minutes later to tell them that they only had enough for 1.
