Louisville,KY Hotel suggestions

going to Louisville for the PGA championship next week, and know nothing about the area. Any suggestions on where not to stay? I'm looking at some properties around Churchill Downs. Is that area ok? TIA

I'll be there as well, we're staying at the Horseshoe across the river. The Galt house is quite nice. Stayed there when I ran the marathon a few months ago.
