OT Lawyers-Case Management Programs
Posted by LSU5508 on 7/30/14 at 10:12 pm00
Looking for a new case management program for a law firm. Firm is mid-sized 6-10 attorneys and has good volume 500+ cases at any time. Practice is made up of 60% personal injury, 20% class action, 10% family law/estate planning and 10% corporate. Currently the firm uses Needles but we are looking to make a switch to something more modern. Have been reviewing a lot of programs and Clio, Rocketmaster, and Mycase seem to be the major players.
We want something that we can customize for unique cases ie class actions, has customizable eporting functions and can store settlement information. Would also want to integrate with outlook and do well with document management.
Any thought would be appreciated.

Do you advertise on TV?

Do Not.

Why not?

Not trying to turn this into a plaintiff lawyer hate thread. Eventually a few attorneys will show up and supply some legitimate answers.

I've heard TrialWorks is pretty good.

Mycase is very user friendly. The workflows are very good.

You know, I usually roll my eyes when people post something like I'm about to post, but.....
Why in the hell do you think the OT is the forum to get advice on such a technical and important decision?

Because if you have spent any time on tiger droppings in general you would know there are hundreds of attorneys on this site from all walks of life. Their experience is far superior to me than watching some stupid arse webinar paid for by the company offering the software.

You aren't on any list serves? Lawyers posting on the OT at 11 pm might not be the kind of go-getters I want to base software decisions on.

To be honest I didn't expect to get many answers tonight but come tomorrow I will have much less time than I do now. I'd rather draft a post now, submit it and come back and read the replies I get during the day.
Also I'm not basing my decision off any replies on here. I have already consulted with several other attorneys, spent hours doing research and test drove several programs. However getting additional opinions is never a bad thing. All it takes is for one person to bring up one thing I overlooked and this thread will be beneficial to me.

Bump it at 9:30. The most important aspect if any of this software is training. They are all capable of amazing things but are only as good as your lazy assed secretary.
ETA: Sorry for my knee jerk and OT response.
