a key ring attachment that has a chip that can receive calls and rings when you dial its number?
Never lose you key rings again.
Doesn't even have to limited to key rings, attach it to any item that might easily be misplaced right when you need it the most wallet, booze, condoms, etc.

Does that help you if you're in a messy apartment and you know you item is within the very near vicinity under some clutter or a piece of furniture?

why would it need any of that? it's only a one-way call receiver that rings until the caller hangs up. no storage capacity.
