Dan Le Batard tries to buy ad in Cleveland newspaper, gets shot down

He did it tongue-in-cheek. Anyone who has listened to the show regularly knows this is a big joke. The idea originally started on the Miami morning show and then Lebatard, Stugotz, and Greg Cote started debating on how much an ad would cost, with Cote suggesting it would cost $100,000.
If you've listened to Dan at all you'd know he's the only one on the show that holds no ill will at all towards LeBron.

I don't get why he should thank them? Because they welcomed him with open arms in 2010 while the rest of the country was blasting him? Did he thank Cavs fans when he left the first time?

Actually lebatard was just trying to be funny. He has consistently said he doesn't care if Lebron thanks the fans.
