I put cash into ATM for deposit and deposit failed. I went inside the bank I report and am filing dispute today (had to wait 24 hours). There is no transaction history for this deposit attempt. Am I fricked?

Why? If you get all of your shite straight before getting to the ATM then it isn't any longer a process than making a withdrawal.

ETA: BTW, I just used the Chase app to deposit a check by photograph and man was I skeptical, but it went through. I did hold onto that check till it cleared my bank though.

Anyone who puts cash into an ATM or Night Deposit, store owners excluded, deserves this at least once.

I would imagine after they count everything and see the extra money they will fix it for you. However its never a great idea to deposit cash in the ATM.

Just use the chase app to deposit your cash. All you need to do is take a photo of each bill.

ATM's have cameras that film every transaction. They can pull up the camera for the time that you said you were making a deposit. Between that and the count for that ATM being off the next day, I'm sure they will be able to fix the issue.

You have a lot of hate, but this makes no sense.

ATM depostis are easy, and since switching to BNO I kind of miss them. Though I like being at a smaller bank.

You're not going to lose it.

Deposit cash in person. Get a receipt.

It's sucks when you are trying to grab some quick cash and you got some moron doing a deposit for 20 mins at the ATM. Especially when the bank is open.

I don't reserve my hate just for people making ATM deposits. I make a general statement that if you have more than 2 transactions to do (e.g. deposit, check balance, withdrawal) then get your arse to a teller. Otherwise I will honk my horn at you.

I never get behind that person. It's like the lady at the grocery store who stands there the entire time she is being checked out only to start looking for her check book once the cashier gives her a total.

It a fast pace world out there now. We even have apps to hail cabs.

two kinds of cash deposits and I think many here aren't familar with both.

Old style. You put money in an envelope and then put the envelope in a slot. This envelope has all your info on it. (smaller and older banks)

New Style. You put cash in a slot and it count's it and deposits it. IF THE COUNT IS WRONG YOU CAN CANCEL. Hit cancel and you get your money back. Also if it can't read a bill you get your money back.

I cannot see how people are not trusting of either method.
I make after hours drops in a slot all the time, and I trust ATM deposits even more than slot deposits.

and get off your lawn while you are at it. Why go into a bak and deal with lines and stupid tellers when you don't have to? There are cameras at every ATM. If you are that worried, fan out your bills in front of the camera before depositing.

Chas ATMs always give me the option to accept or reject the deposit before it completes the transaction. It's pretty foolproof.

They have multiple bank teller lanes and usually one ATM.
