Ed Rendell, former Gov of Pa is on his way to a fundraiser in New Orleans for Mary's campaign. So, he did a 1/2 hour live interview with local Keel Radio. His points:

1. La. has no idea how powerful and influential Mary is. She is responsible for Katrina aid, opening the gulf to more oil drilling and helping Barksdale AFB stay open.

2. The Border Crisis is Bush's fault cause he and the republicans passed a law that the children had to have a hearing before deportation.

3. Obama is doing a great job of solving the border problem by pressuring the leaders of Latin America to tell their people to stop coming here.

4. The children who cannot demonstrate that they have a legitimate reason to stay will be deported. But the process will take at least 3 or 4 years due to backlog.

5. It is disgusting that Gov Perry is exploiting these poor children for political purposes.

Edit: He was only pressed on one issue: "Gov Rendell, people in La. are not happy with Mary Landrieu because of Obamacare."

Him: "Obamacare has helped millions of people who did not have insurance. The only reason it's unpopular in La. is because your Gov Jindal has refused to accept an expansion of Medicaid that would bring money into La. to insure 100s of 1,000s of people who cannot afford insurance."

It is interesting that 4 of the 5 issues he brings up revolve around the border crisis and tells us that the border is a huge concern for Dems and Repubs alike. It appears that the gameplan is to cast blame on Bush (surprise) and lie. Who really believes that "Obama is doing a great job of solving the border problem?"

And how does it take 3 or 4 year to deport someone?

Well, technically I can see how it is possibly true. As an illustration... suppose you had only 1 judge to hear the cases and there were 100 children represented by counsel. That may take only a few months. But if 100 additional children came over the border per day the judge would die of old age before he heard them.

The 3 year backlog would be an absurd assertion if the border was sealed now. But it's not. The flow continues and it has no end in sight.

I nominate Judge Judy.

JJ: "Manuelito, do you have anything that provides evidence that you are a citizen of the United States?"

Manuelito: "No."

JJ: "Then I'm sorry but we need to get you home. There is an INS bus parked right outside." (As she tallies the cost of the bus ticket to be reduced from that country's foreign aid.)

JJ: "Next!"

They're still pulling out all the stops for her. I wonder when they'll pull the plug since she doesn't seem to be getting traction against Cassidy.

I don't think they'll give up on her till election day. She could be the 1 person difference.

Rendell wouldn't travel from Pa to La unless she is very high on the Dem priority list.

OTOH, we often complain that La. media doesn't get much revenue from national political ads due to never being a swing state. We are getting TONS of TV ads for Mary every day.

Not necessarily complaining. I just figure that this is money and time going down the rathole for them because Mary is getting NO traction at all.

The "Louisiana Purchase", Keystone, and the Gulf moratorium have hardened resistance against her and no one buys her "I'll have influence!" bullshite.

Wonderful. Hopefully he'll stick to that message like glue.

Fixed it for him.

Trayvon, Sandy Hook... far more disgusting. What's Perry supposed to do? Pretend they aren't here and not deal with it?

bullshite. If anything, Fleming and Vitter who are both of the Armed Services Committee's played a bigger role.

Look, it's a significant point that ML brings home bacon, but the alterative is not nothing, and further she's sure vote for SC justifies, etc.
