And here we go again...

Kentucky going blue

quote:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is nearly deadlocked with Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes, according to a new Bluegrass Poll sponsored by several Kentucky media outlets.

The poll gives McConnell 47 percent to Grimes' 45 percent among likely voters -- a difference that falls within the survey's margin of error. One quarter of voters said they might change their minds before Election Day.

Stop propping up liberal conservatives. I expect a tight race in Ms too.

Great Pr for the dems.

"Past Bluegrass Polls gave Grimes a 4-point edge in February and a 1-point edge in May. In the intervening months, McConnell's favorable rating has risen, from a dismal net negative-23 in February to a net negative-7 in the latest survey. Most of the improvement comes among Republicans, who have largely rallied around his candidacy since he fended off tea party challenger Matt Bevin in a contentious primary. McConnell's rating among GOP voters is now 65 percent, up 19 points since February."

Republicans are in great shape, darkhorse. How in the world will democrats do well when Mexicans and Blacks don't turn out?

CBS POll

"Meanwhile, two spotlight races in Georgia and Kentucky have the Democrats hoping for pickups of their own, but these estimates show Republicans would still win there if today were election day. In Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell would likely win today in his race against Democratic Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes. And in Georgia, Democrat Michelle Nunn would fall short in her quest to defeat GOP nominee David Perdue for that state's open seat. But those races remain close as well -- the Republicans do not prevail in every potential scenario."

Much like Dingy Harry, I figure that McConnell will stick around by hook or by crook.

I won't be sad to see him go if Grimes beats him, though.

I know what you're saying but there's not such a thing as a "liberal conservative",,
the establishment "R's" or rino's talk conservative on the campaign stump but usually vote as moderates or even the same as liberals.

The cross the isle, go along to get along and pass bad compromise-legislation, and when they get screwed over by the Dems they throw up their hands "we didn't know that would happen". It's formulaic now as to what these idiots are about.

I look for McConnell to pull some of the same stuff Cochran did in Ms.. He cheated and pulled tricks with money that could be used in Kentucky too. Those Washington incumbents know the dirty tricks to win. It doesn't matter the day after the election. The end justifies the means.

The more incumbents go down in flames the better.

Probably. But it's naive to think that it ever happens. It's always "throw the bums out - except my bum".

Did someone say the Republicans were going to impeach the President?

Y'all had a pretty big day in fundraising yesterday or the day before. Imagine that.

Imagine that. The Republicans talk about impeachment for a few years - the Democrats tell people about it - and the Democrats are evil bad guy politicians for it. Who would have thought the warped mind of a rightie would think like that?

If you righties didn't want Dems to get all riled up about impeachment you shouldn't have been talking about wanting to do it. You made you bed. Lie in it.
