ahhh

Data journalism site Five Thirty Eight breaks down some of the most common names in the U.S., along with their associated age ranges. Some names like Joseph are relatively timeless, but many names experience surges and lulls in popularity (see you in 2028, class of Bellas and Jacobs). Because of this, you can sometimes get an idea of how old a person is without much additional information. For example, statistically, a person named Brittany is probably in or just graduated from college right now:

By contrast, you can make much stronger inferences about a woman named Brittany. That name was very popular from the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s, but it wasn't all that common before and hasn't been since. If you know a Brittany, she is probably of college age or just a bit older. Half of living American Brittanys are between the ages of 19 and 25.

Women are Fickle for $500, Alex

Very obvious in our names

My name peaked in relative popularity in my birth year but of course mom says she named me that because she liked it

wolframpalpha is a great website for seeing this stuff.

Just type "_____ given name" in the search and it'll trend it out for you:

example, Joseph:

Aiden, Kayden, Hayden, Brayden, or any variation are under the age of 15.

Go to this site and search your name under popularity of a name for the past 100 years. You should be able to get an idea of the trend. My name has apparently been steadily declining for the past 100 years.
