An LSU coach is going to see a Kobi Simmons game (2016 5star Combo guard from GA) for the second time this month tonight... Surprised we are putting in this much effort for a guy that seems like a longshot at best. We really love that Georgia/Florida area for hoops.

I know the celtics wore Adidas when I was playing AAU, are they still? Would that put us at a disadvantage?

We get Chad Clay (2016 football recruit), we've got a really good shot with Kobi-Simmons.

Quick google search shows Simmons in both Nike and Addidas, but it seems like the Celtics are in addidas still

Any more news on Melvin Frazier? Idk how good espn bball recruiting page is but they have him as a 4 star with a grade of 80

Until I hear otherwise and I've asked around... would be hard to imagine he isn't an Arkansas lock. That Wings program usually feeds Arky.

Does he have an Arkansas offer? I can't imagine him having a commitable LSU offer at this point so I was just wondering.

Not sure he has an LSU one he can commit to with the numbers crunch but the kid can go. Defend's the perimeter at a very high level and is an elite athlete. Shot is vastly improved as are his handles. Hard to imagine him not having an Arkansas offer with the fit to their style and the Wings connection (Arkansas Wings EYBL program is the Wings reference FWIW).

Are we not going after anyone else for 2015?
We have at least 1 open scholarship spot assuming only even 1 of Mickey or Martin leave, could certainly use another guard.

Yes. Staff is in lockdown mode this time of year. Always happens.
We had 11 minus Odo as lone Senior leaves 10 players + Victor + Ben + Tone = 13. Now, assuming M or M leave we don't really need a guard.
Sr - Gray/Hornsby
Jr - TQ
Soph - Patterson
Frosh - Blakeney
Wings are possibly Epps/Simmons ... if anything need another big body you trust if people don't like Darcy/Elbert/Victor/Simmons/Bridge at the 4/5.

Here's the problem though, you listed 2 seniors who will both be gone after next season, leaving us with just 3 guards and whoever we get in 2016 class...now what if Quarterman decides to go NBA? Very possible and that leaves us with just 2 guards + 2016 signees...obviously cannot count out Blakeney going 1 and done, which would leave us with just Jayln Patterson and 2016 signees for 2016. I think it might be pivotal to sign another guard in the 2015 class. We really don't want to be left with 1 or 2 guards going into 2016 with the 2016 signees added.
I realize we are not very talented (depth wise) next year at the forward spot even if only 1 of Mickey/Martin leave, but we have a TON of big bodies for next year, just some of them aren't very good at the moment (Malone, Bridgewater, Robinson, Epps). None of those guys are in danger of leaving after next season either unless we force them out too.

I was just looking at 2016, and it doesn't look like LSU has any current interest from any of the top 50. We really need to win a game in the NCAA to keep the momentum going.

Having those big bodies is cool, but you always wanna upgrade your overall talent level whenever you can.

Blakeney wasn't on the radar for LSU at this point last year either. However you're wrong if you're looking at the Top 50 in 2016 and don't see a guy named Kobi Simmons that LSU has been to see multiple times and are clearly in running for. They are recruiting others as well but I'll leave that until it comes out. Not to mention a couple in state guys who will be right around the Top 50 when it's all said and done.
