I hear you. We also have to remember that he coaches are looking to take Dominic Magee, so that will definitely affect our recruiting. Ultimately, Brandon and Tone's skill sets are redundant. They are the same player with very few differences. I think it's probably a mix of Brandon wanting to start immediately, California, and the coaches going harder after Blakeney. I should rephrase what I said. Should've said not recruiting him as hard as we once were, now that Blakeney and Lyle look somewhat likely.

I think we end up with Simmons, Blakeney, Lyle and Magee in this "class" (I put that in parenthesis due to Magee being a transfer).
That would be a really good class, but I would be really worried about the front court only if Martin AND Mickey both left.

Any reason why you think we're trending for Lyle? Hard to imagine there's anything unrelated to Blakeney.
Also, I'd hardly say Lyle is much better prospect than Sampson.

Personally it seems like Evans may be better than Sampson, but he's long gone at this point. I'd love Sampson on board though, even though he's not showing us much attention compared to the West Coast it seems.

Well, so far we're the only school to get an OV and he's been very open about how he wants to play with Ben and Antonio. We're also staring to get CB's for him.
Completely different skill sets though. Unlike Sampson and Blakeney, Lyle and Tone could play on the court at the same time. Lyle is Tyreke Evans with a higher vert. He can pass, handle the ball, and get to the lane at will.

BTW, whatever happened to Chad Lott. I know he loved his visit here...did he commit elsewhere or did LSU give up on him?

He would be big bc he can play the 1-2-3 spots

LSU hasn't given up on him. He's just not as high on the board.

If we get Lyle and Magee our "2014" class would look a lot stronger

If we get Lyle or Blakeney, we owe it to that Bama weekend where all three were in town together. Seemed to really enjoy the idea of all three playing together.

A few things...
1) Watched Sampson closely last night. Sure game was a blow out but he just isn't Blakeney. Not close to the same level.
2) Evans signed people. Let it go.
3) Love Chad Lott as a kid, if you had 13 kids like him, you'd have an amazingly clean program. As a basketball player he is raw (thank his HS coach for playing him in post) as a guard. Needs time and work.

Just saw a mock draft where neither Martin nor Mickey were listed (it was only 1st rd mock)... I could see them coming back if we were able to get Simmons, Blakeney, Lyle in to try and make a big stir in the NCAAT... Still would be shocked if they both (honestly or one) came back to LSU, but just think how stacked the team would be next year with that roster?

If Mick and Martin come back, and we get Tone, Quan, and Dominic to go along with Ben, then we'd have 14 scholarship players. We'd have 1 too many players. Gotta have some attrition.

I know Malone is close to Patrick but it's pretty clear who they see as the #11 scholarship player this year...

Got 2015 O-line commit Adrian Magee confused with Dominic.

Gotcha. Yeah, curious to see what happens if EVERYTHING fell into place for next year. I am sure Bridgewater could be taken off scholarship but stay on "scholarship" ... Not sure about Darcy being processed or not (wouldn't look good, maybe he could "transfer" for playing time and LSU saves face). Trust me, if LSU has this "problem" ... nobody will give 2 shits about the guys who leave. Lol
