Something that grinds my gears (Arrow season 1 SPOILERS)

Decided to finish up the last few episodes of S1 while studying today and the situation involving Laurel's dad and the machine at the end just annoys the crap out if me.
Why don't these people ever shoot the damn things?
Seriously, it's a fricking computer. A few bullet holes and that thing isn't setting off any earthquakes.
Yea, I know it's supposed to build tension when disarming bombs and stuff, but it just looked really dumb in this situation.
FYI, if you are ever facing an earthquake machine with a gun and the clock says 10 secs, 5 mins, or 300 years, shoot it.
This has been Scruffy's helpful advice of the day.
Outside of Oliver's occasionally hokey acting, really like the show. The flashbacks are probably my favorite part.

that is a perfect gif to call out Scruffy when he screws up the third person talk. As he said tho, he takes his lunch breaks on the movie board
