Looking for something decently nice in the $750-1000 range. Any suggestions on apartment complexes?

Meh.. I don't live in a ballin place, but it's plenty safe, gated, etc. and $650/mo.

I had to search VERY hard to get that price, but $800-$850 is the norm for a 1BR unless you're looking at some of the nicest complexes around.

Agreed. You're almost better off just getting a 2BR place. There are 2 BRs in the same price range as the 1BR (non-studio). That's what I'm doing. I found a 2BR house in Capital Heights for the same price as a 1 BR apartment in the Gates at Citiplace

If you're a college student, I would recommend the Campus Crossing ones. They're pricey, but the apartments come furnished, there's tons of amenities (fitness center, pools, BBQ area, ect), and utilities are included in the price. It's a great spot. Only downside is parking for guests and traffic on Highland Road.
