There was an article in the advocate on this proposal after most of the surrounding parishes backed out of the BR Loop last year.

Here is an updated article in todays paper. At this point, I would be in favor of any project that has a southern loop component.

It would take at least five years to complete any sort of loop/ bridge project once it started. Think of how shitty the problem will be 5 to 10 years from now.

You are right. But we have to start somewhere. Better late than never!

This project should be pushed to the front of the line. It is badly needed and will help all the surrounding areas.

That just means their going to hire some firm to do another "study" on it that will cost a couple of million dollars. We have to do these every couple of years you know.

They should have put that plaquemine bridge in before the Audubon bridge.

Livingston Parish residents are furious you would even suggest that.

No bridge is coming. This is just another excuse for politicians to funnel millions of dollars to relatives and campaign contributors in the form of a "traffic study" which is going to say the same thing the last 5 studies said: we need a new bridge, but it's even more expensive than the last time we studied it! Then, the project won't get built because it's too expensive, despite that if DOTD added up all of the money they spent studying the project so many times, that money would equal or more than likely exceed the cost of a new bridge back when they first started studying it.

Houston (2 loops) > Lake Charles (1 loop) > Baton Rouge (no loops)
